We are planning to go to Australia Oct 25 to dec.10/08. We were thinking of doing the above outback camping safari. What will the weather be like in Nov. for this tour? Has anyone gone on this Safari or know of someone who has? Will up north by Darwin be the rainy season at this time of year or will it be dry? Also thinking of doing Tasmania to see the Devil and maybe New Zealand. Any comments are what we should do and how long it takes to get from mainland to Tasmania or from mainland to fly to New Zealand? Thanks for any infor I receive.

Hi Sue,

Below is some info you requested on Australia & New Zealand , I hope it answers all your questions.

November through to March is known as the green season which transforms the top end of the Northern Territory into a natural wonderland that is definitely a must see!

A unique time to explore Kakadu National Park, Kakadu is at its best this time of year with its flowing waterfalls and abundant wildlife from birds to crocodiles. I would most certainty recommend it t you!

As for Tasmania I recommend the 12 day Tasmanian Spectacular which will allow you to see the great sights throughout the state. Visit Freycinet National Park one of the best places to see Tasmanian Devils as well as other native animals, view the amazing Russell falls, Cradle Mountain National Park and the list goes on!

AAT Kings also offers a wide range of tours in New Zealand visiting lots of different attractions such as the Franz Josef Glaciers and mighty Mt Cook, you are sure to find something very appealing. I strongly suggest you take a look at our Australian and New Zealand brochure, to find a tour that will best suit you. You can access these from our website by selecting our brochures option followed by E – brochures.

Depending on where you depart from and whether it is a direct flight will determine the duration of your flight. For example a direct Sydney to Hobart (TAS) flight will take you just under 2 hours.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.
